>>86763I started cycling 2 years ago when my uncle gave me his old bike. At first I was only able to do a few kms but overtime I was slowly getting better. I was discovering all the towns, villages, forests in my area for the first time. That first summer ended with me going on a 50km trip. Last year I did a lot more progress. It started with me getting back my condition and attempting a 100km ride, but I failed and only did 70km. I was somehow able to achieve 100km two days later though. Every few weeks I was going on longer cycling trips to beat my record. On my 160km ride I was trying to do 180km but I didn't have enough time and the road was pretty bad. After that I got an injury, couldn't cycle for 2 weeks and gave up on my 200km goal since summer was basically over. I never really seriously trained though, mostly just casual 20-40km rides every day and occasional speed rides. This year I'll probably try to focus on exploring new places rather than just hitting new records. I recommend cycling to anyone, especially if you live in Europe, it's a very calming experience and you get to see a lot of beautiful scenery.
