I've told my parents about that, but lied and said I was going with two friends rather than meeting someone there, so now I'm torn between just telling them the truth, or lying and saying that me and those two friends just changed plans to go somewhere in our country for the weekend and just go there by myself.

Depends on your parents personality. I'd say that saying the truth is always better, its simpler then having to keep track of all the excuses you'd have to make up.

If they are temperamental id say that its best to just say that something came up and one of the guys could come so you canceled, if they ask just say he didn't tell you why he cancelled.
