The premise is false because people who do those things will have a stronger sense of belonging and not fall into neetdom to begin with.
Its the people who are (or feel like) they are casted and shut out by society who escape into neetdom. Its a feeling of not participating in the system is less hassle than trying to participate in it. Though if this state of mind is prolonged it will eventually bite them in the ass spiritually physically and mentally. A catch 22 situation, damned if you do damned if you don't.
