>>103056>I have high functioning ADHD, I wasn't diagnosed until 18 but some parts can definitely be mitigated. I was more hyperactive as a child, but what helped sorting it out was when I started reading. It gave me something to focus on for hours without having to run around endlessly. There are a lot of similar activities that can help push a child the right way, and let them live a mostly normal life. Some things will definitely always be a bit off, but at least they can do all the necessities by themselves without issue. TSMT. Nothing will be perfect, but the point of therapies is to get kids to the point of functioning in society.
>Socialising is probably the most important, if neurodivergent children are able to socialise with normal kids, in a way where they aren't bullied or ostracised, they will learn how to be more outspoken and social. Otherwise they might get bullied and distance themselves for life. The problem in some places is that they pile kids with autism in the wrong places
<They can't be with "normal" or neurotypical kids because they'll be ostracized and bullied relentlessly<They can't be in special needs schools too (unless they're low-functioning) as they are more capable than, say, someone with Down's syndrome, and the atmosphere is discouraging as you're being treated like a lower being. They have to have their own place to talk and learn. That's where I ended up and it was great. I developed a lot there, and for the better.
>Like you say, the earlier the better, if there is no support as a child you are likely to stay that way once your brain sets in.Many parents don't get their kids and get Chris chans as a result. You have to ACTIVELY care for your kids and help them in life. One of those things is comforting them and playing along with their delusions. DON'T FUCKING DO THAT. This completely fucks the kid over and makes them have a superiority complex. You have to be assertive about what's real and what's not, what's good and bad, and so forth.
>I think if someone is low functioning there isn't much that can be done though. It is possible to improve those kids, but you have to be very careful and diligent. One wrong person and everything falls apart. I've seen too many low-functioning kids get fucked over by horrible teachers and worse parents.
