How many (irl) friends do you have? How/where did you come across these friends? Did you have to force the initiation or did it all just come naturally? I'm a worthless retard with no one, and I never understood how people here do it. Before my parents pulled me out of college, I always saw everyone there easily making friends and talking with eachother and it made me feel like complete shit because I couldn't do anything but watch. idk I'll probably rope soon but I'm interested on how the process is supposed to work.

I have like two, and I am happy to have who I have. I met them both in Middle School and High School and have been friends with them ever since. It came naturally though shared experience.

If you are struggling with finding friends I suggest you do something where you and another person can relate. Places with tasks deemed as strenuous (i.e. college) can turn out higher rates of mutuality, but then again college is FUCKING ZOGGED. I don't know, it's all based off of mutuality; if you can find 2-3 things you agree on and you can hit it off with someone from there (yes, by talking you aspie), you can make friends.

Wordswordswords don't rope

Im a sperg but i still make friends. It feels pretty shit talking to people im not friends with, but you kind of just have to force through it and keep trying. Its best to find an environment where you can bond while doing something. School is good for this, as everyone has to do shitty tasks and wants to shoot a hole through their head, so will take any excuse to talk to people instead of doing the work.

Just make small talk or ask observational questions. Not some retarded dating coach style "is that a pizza", but notice a detail and ask them about it. If they have stickers on their computer, or a nice watch, or nice clothes, whatever it seems like they actually cared about, ask them about it. The one thing I learnt that really helped was that everyone likes talking about themselves if you push the right button. Try to figure out what they care about, ask them about it, and they'll talk a lot. Then once a conversation starts, ask if they have any of your interests later on, so that you can make the conversation more 2 sided

quite a few but they all hate me. maybe 2 that im close with, 10 that I hang out wath, and most people I can talk to without it beign weird
> How/where did you come across these friends?
two close friends I kind of hate to be honest, though they think I like them.
Martial arts dojo and middle school friends are the best friends for me.
> Did you have to force the initiation or did it all just come naturally?
Sometimes I have to, other times not. Most of the time I have to.
Friends that have high social status are hard to talk to and are the only ones worth having.

>How many (irl) friends do you have?
One (I don't have any online friends for that matter)
>How/where did you come across these friends?
We met in High School(I'm 19 jannies), shared some classes with each other.
>Did you have to force the initiation or did it all just come naturally?
Somewhat, we've only met two times since graduating High School, both times being months apart. I made most friends in High School through jokes and shock/edgy humor, I actually have very little in common with most of my former friends and with the current friend. My last interaction was quite underwhelming, I had difficulty maintaining a conversation, as I'm unable to relate to most people.

4, I dont really have online friends anymore either
>How/where did you come across these friends?
At the HS I went to before i graduated
>Did you have to force the initiation or did it all just come naturally?
Naturally. I cant even remember how we went from classmates to friends…

Dont rope 'een you cant walk out on all the other spergs and 'tismGODs on the world now!

as of right now 2 but I don't know if they're even around at this point
>How/where did you come across these friends?
HS, a really , really long time ago at this point
>Did you have to force the initiation or did it all just come naturally?
Somewhat I guess? Seems like we just had common interests here and there and it kinda translated into a friendship that I'm not even sure is a thing anymore since it's been so long since we last seen each other face to face

I have zero friends right now, but I had some when I was in high school. Once you get one friend, you will probably get a couple from them introducing you to other people, or something like that.

This would of been useful, though the big issue I had during college was the innitiation of convos. I was always worried about being pushy when trying to talk to the person next to me, because unlike HS everyone actually wants to be there, and on paper you shouldnt be focused on socializing in college anyway. I also think the way my voice sounds just makes people instinctively want to hate me, so talking to other people in general is really scary.

Thank you for the replies btw, and I'm very sorry for the late response. Seems like HS was my last chance at making a friend. Whatever. Hopefully I get murdered in my sleep tonight so that I dont have to cry about this stuff all the time.

Dont overthink it.
This is the same as what i do when i talk to girls (5 8 mmtn)
I just walk up to them and say something that makes sense. I ask them about something I onow they would know about. What’s your name? What classes you got this year? Where are you from?
Then from there, they will say something. Ask them a question about that thing and then start asking questions about them.
Worst thing that happens is they think you’re a sperg retard, which is no different from what they would think if you didn’t talk to anyone

 β„–102447[Quote]

i have none irl because of being autistic retard. only have 1 online friend i met thru discord (yes i know discord ew). im turning 19 and only have my family to celebrate with. friends in this modern day and age are hard to come by. ive just given up and accepted i wont have friends. its better to be alone anyways :') if u arent neurotypical with popular interests you will struggle, it sucks but theres always pets! they'll always be ur best friends.

Initiation is always the hard part. Theres no real way around it either, you just need to mentally be giga enough to not care at all what they might think and talk to them. The more you do it the easier it gets, and youll be able to make more friends.

You can make friends after leaving education but its a whole lot harder. Im lucky enough to have joined an apprenticeship so i have plenty of people to talk to, but otherwise most of my colleagues would be about double my age. This is the key thing boomers dont understand about why we struggle to socialise. Theres very few people our age
