I was invited to a little hangout with some of my siblings' friends (they also invited their own siblings) and the main activity was a karaoke. Now they allow secular music and no parents were around (most of the guys were around 25) but I was utterly humillated. First we did some rounds with themes (eg: "breakup", "other language", or "medieval") and I sang one I found a while from a video used as a joke and the other one was one we sang years a go on a choir (I used to be in one). Finally we did a free round but when it was my turn (randomized turns by the way) I lost it and gave up, I didn't know what to sing/bring up.
This made me reflect on what I listen to and realised I mostly hear soundtracks from games I've already played or are very related to the ones I did. And all other songs with lyrics are sharty songs (like the Jarty songs or Cobbo) or very pop stuff like Queen or Beatles (and not much either, as I know those songs mostly from that choir). Specifying on the former genre, I was gonna bring a song from MGS (either the one from MGS3 or one of the less popular ones from MGR) but while I looked for an old video I found most comments were trannies or similar freaks, and quite recent too. That made me discouraged, because I don't want to mix up with trannies.
So, what do you guys listen or recommend listening to? How do I "explore" and "find" music?
