The Ancient North Eurasians (ANE) were a population that originated from modern day Irkutsk oblast in Russia, on the banks of the Angara culture, they are represented by the Mal'ta Buret' culture and populations closely related to them such as the Afontova Gora people in Siberia.

They perhaps are the lost "third race" in Eurasia, though their lineages come from an intermixing event between Ancient West Eurasians (which constitute 65% of their ancestry, beast represented by the Kostenki-14), and Ancient East Eurasians (from which 35% of their ancestry comes from, best represented by the Tianyuan man) during the upper Paleolithic period. The Pleistocence ANE gene pool likely had more West Eurasian looking features as seen in the Tarim mummies, one of their descendants.

ANE ancestry has spread throughout Eurasia and the Americas in many ways. Their biggest contributions are found in Native Americans, Selkups, and Kets. They also contributed ancestry to the indigenous peoples of Europe, South Asia, Central Asia, and Siberia.

The Ancient Beringian, Paleo-Siberian, and Native American lineages come from an intermixing event that occurred between a branch of ANE and some Ancient Northeast Asian peoples. Some ANE also migrated westward into Europe and interbred with Western hunter gatherers to produce Eastern hunter gatherers, which later admixed with Caucasian hunter gatherers to form the Western Steppe Herder group.

Today, Ancient North Eurasians have played a big role in the peopling of Eurasia and the Americas.
