The Romans clearly knew about Jews, as they made laws the explicitly exempted them from non-Christian persecution. Theodosius criminalized every faith except Christianity and Judaism.
The Christians knew what Jews were, and they DID NOT consider them Pagan. This proves Pagan never meant non-Christian. Judaism is not paganism, because in theory they believe in one god, Allah. Same goes for Islam. Do Christians only believe in Allah? No, they worship Allah and Isa(and the Holy Ghost). This makes them polytheistic. Allah is a jealous god, and he does not tolerate the worship of other gods along side him.
