7. He opposed anti-lynching laws. Yes he verbally opposed lynching, but didn`t do anything to outlaw or punish it, he didn`t even propose a single bill. As he considered appeasing southern Democrats/Dixiecrats more than the suffering of people.
8. KKK member on the Supreme Court appointed by Roosevelt to stack the courts. First and only time in US history that a KKK member is part of the Supreme Court.
