Is he? I read a few of his books and from what I can tell, the reason he is pro communism, is because he sees a highly centralised government that controls industry and transportation as the only possible way to solve climate change. My biggest gripe with him would be him considering any movement he identifies as "right-populist" to be fascist, which is quite surprising, because he would surely be interested in reading someone like Giovanni Gentile. His constant refferals to pop culture (soyboy coded behaviour) and his refusal to differentiate between fascism and nazism is almost frustrating.

There is a big and growing disconnect between the intellectual left and the populist left. Intellectual left prefers jacking off over climate change and refugees and generally prefer a John Lennons imagine based government while, to their credit. I think climate change will solve itself when the retarded brown people who throw trash in the rivers and heat everything up end up dying off due to it and then problem solved. Also I think the earth is heating up but I doubt it's mainly caused by human activity. God isn't going to kill all humanity with something as boring as climate change

As far as I am aware, Fascism sees itself as a Hegelian synthesis of the classical left-right political spectrum, hence the focus on Futurist artwork and why Fascism saw itself as "progressive", while Nazism sees a unified ethnos as the most stable and effective manner of conduct. The purer the "national spirit" is, so to speak, the more "culture" (the term hitler used to describe the general thriving of society) is created. At least that is how I remember the difference between the two of them

Is zizek even a commie? It seems like these days most so called commies are either orthodox marxists, tankies or ideologically dysphoric between real marxism and libertine progressivism. Just my two cents as an outsider.

He is still very much a communist, at least in his own words. His ideology is a fusion of marxism, Hegelianism and Lacanian psychoanalysis. An emancipatory universalist egalitarianism would be an apt description. I reccomend checking out his Substack or pirating his books on annas-archive.
