It seems to me that to abandon the idea of NATO would be to leave to Russia a scattered web of different individual nations fighting for their own survival alone. I have begun to think less NATO supportive recently because of their disasterous war in Ukraine and how the western world even without significant support for it beyond shitloads of money and some tanks have held back the entirety of russia for 4 years+. No doubt even without NATO such nations and peoples would donate such, look at NAFO and how much they've supplied and funded the Ukrainian army and Territorial Defense as much of annoying progressives they seem.
