I know a lunar space station was part of the eventual plans. Getting off of Earth's surface is basically the hardest part of spaceflight right now, if we manage to get launch or fueling infrastructure set up on or around the moon where gravity is lower and there's no atmosphere in the way, it actually opens up a ton of possibilities for future missions.
