@filthyamerican Vatnik is a stereotype of overly patriotic russians. Basically Vata means the soft underlayer that they put in jackets, aka cotton. If you tell someone that he has cotton for brains that means he is stupid (obviously). Vatniks also wear vatnik jacket.
