Because the world needs that oil due to Irans own artificial scarcity. I'm sure it will happen as soon as the straight can be re opened.

>>3110807>The world needs that oilYeah, just like Europe needed Nordstream two. Realistically there are other places for the world to get oil. There aren't many other ways for Iran to earn revenues. A siege on Iran is the most human option right now.

Because the war is fake as fuck maybe? If you keep asking these retarded ass questions we will institute a draft. It has not been decided upon as of today.

â„–3110980[Quote]
>>3110918>Open by the end of the monthNearly impossible. First hostilities would need to conclude. Them you'd need to remove all the active lines from the strait. I imagine that would take weeks.

The Marines will open the strait
â„–3111017[Quote]
>>3110998>Where Iran lets ships through Sure but even if hostilities ended, it might not be wide enough to permit all vessels to transit. There's a reason shipping lanes are where they are. Besides, what makes you believe that the war will end any time soon? Iran wants total sovereignty over the strait which the US refuses to grant, and the US wants Iran to disarm and disband it's proxy network which they will probably never do. So far Iran has shown a decent amount of resolve. They've been through tons of recent unrest and it didn't amount to much, so I expect things to get apocalyptic before the situation changes.
â„–3111018[Quote]
>>3111017Iran doesn't need to be eliminated for the straight to be re open you just need to occupy the land around the straight and they can't really threaten it. Sure they can shoot missiles from further away instead of launching drones but they only have like 200 anti ship and a strike group could probably deal with it tbh.
â„–3111019[Quote]
>>3111011How? Marines implies a land invasion of some sort. The missiles and drones are launched from the interior of Iran. Marines would have to physically reach these interior sites and destroy them in order to have any impact. Stationing them on the coast where Iranian naval infrastructure has already been destroyed will have no effect. If anything it'll just make them sitting ducks for a new wave of attacks. As I discussed, we don't need a physical presence to block Iranian shipping. We already seem to have destroyed what we could by air. There's no point in risking a ground assault.
â„–3111021[Quote]
>>3111019The drones are launched from the shore actually, closer and lower down, get a few miles inland and your high in the mountains.
â„–3111023[Quote]
>>3111021Either way, I'm not sure what the Marines would be able to accomplish what our air campaign hasn't. This isn't a universally popular war to begin with. Amy kind of ground assault would likely incur a lot more casualties. I doubt it would all go down maduro style.
