I have only played Ultra Sun and I have only played it doing a Skitty/Delcatty solo run
Out of all mainline Pokemon games doing a Delcatty solo run, Ultra Sun was by far the most challenging and engaging gameplay wise. The game feels really good to play if you only have one Pokemon, like it was intentionally designed with this gameplay style in mind somehow. What holds it back are the relatively long cutscenes of SNCA. Not that I am against cutscenes in games on principle, but if you are going to force gamers to take a break from gaming and make them listen to some narrative, then you have to make it interesting, which USUM fails to do. So it fails as an RPG experience, but I think gameplay wise it is one of the better mainline Pokemon games. Way better than XY that is for sure.
