technically it is hunkymonkey

I think the prevailing theory about it is that Early stage steppe picked it up by Cucuteni contacts before diversifying into Dnieper-Donets Corded ware & Catacomb Yamnaya, as the increase in Europes V13 levels are directly tied to the Yamnaya invasion

Swede can you answer me why there's that E-V13/I1/R1b pocket inside of the borders of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria?

 â„–3090186[Quote]

>>3090179
Armenia got R1b because they are indo European via direct yamnaya descent, the others because Kurds are iranic

Kosovars are oddly enough purer Albanians than albanians proper.

I wish we knew more about the Paleobalkan people. My uneducated guess is that E-V13 is linked with Dardanians since the areas of E-V13 map quite closely maps onto Dardanian territory in South Serbia and Kosovo, and that they were an Illyrian-Thracian population, which would explain the pockets in Bulgaria and Apulia from Thracians and Lapygians respectively. No idea where it comes from in Greece except for the Peloponnese which might be from Arvanites.

greek e-v13 comes from invading Dorians & Illyrians in the north

E-v13 in Greece and Albania is weird because it's specifically E-Z5017 which is the yamnaya clade and you would expect it to be a part of the carpathian southern arc which is Z5018.

What's strange too is that outside of the balkans with Z5017, 5018 is directly tied to Gothic expansions in North Wales and in North Central Europe (North Wales is the most gothic part of Europe and has the highest concentration of V13). There's a little cluser of V13 inside of Oslo/Uppsalla/Schleswig.

very strange hg

Why would E be yamnaya mediated rather than EEF?

migratory pattern and spread of E into northern europe and indo-european related regions to the east via Iranian Corded Ware explains it better than E being EEF mediated

Also the fact E-V13 (E-CTS1273) is found extensively in Steppe heavy populations and not in any levantine/north african populations is indicative of who spread it

i'm trying to find the graph of E-V13 throughout the bronze/iron/antiquity/classic eras sorry for replying so late

basically cts1273 was picked up almost entirely by a steppe group and its history of expansion has been steppe mediated throughout it's whole history

The youngest clades are found in the Balkans, which is ironically where it's highest. The expansion of V13 centered from the steppe groups of CW and Yamnaya around the Bronze Age Aryan invasion of Europe. L540 is almost exclusively centered in Scandinavia/Germany and came 2,000 years ago, which would be indicative that its predecessor (CTS1273) came from the CW groups that inhabited these areas, and then spread through celto-germanic contacts.

Not to mention the scythian samples of V13, Ossetian V13, and the far eastern V13 adna/modern samples should point to a steppe mediated invasion of the Balkans rather than a Balkan-outwards expansion.

>Another thing is that just L540 and Z16663 are missing from the Southern Balkans for now (The Pontic Greeks are Eastern Anatolian, not Balkanites), which proves that E-V13 originally expanded into the Balkans and not from it.

it's a very strange HG, people like to claim that it entered europe through Spain because that's the oldest one found but that sample eventually came out to be L618+ and V13-.

>The really big news to me, the first real data, is from the context of Santana de Mures. I mean in a overwhelmingly Germanic environment, E-V13 is at the same level as I-M253…

 â„–3090677[Quote]

yeah I can't find that graph I was talking about and I kinda give up, it listed the relative levels of J2b/E-V13/R1a/R1b/I1/I2a1/I2a2/G2 in Europe and their rises/falls during respective periods, and what I noticed is that steppe incursions raised levels of V13 and roman/farmer incursions lowered it.

You would expect the oppposite with the HG
