Today at work, I expressed my pleasure that all of the menu's were faced upright and properly to a coworker. In response, she teased that I may have OCD. Later that day, I was speaking with another coworker about getting sick of the food on the menu, and they said that they don't, and thus might have autism. It seems like these interactions happen quite often. They most often involve someone flippantly diagnosing themselves.

My question is this: why are people so focused on explaining their behavior or the behavior of others via mental disorders? Is the concept of a personality quirk becoming outdated? I remember the idea of "self-diagnosing" became somewhat controversial on Tiktok or something a few years ago, but now it seems all too common.

They don't have personalities o algo.
Anything they do, think, say, eat, love is basically something that the system need to approve, if they (and God forbbed) ever have a thought then it's a mental disorder.

I somewhat agree, but I don't think it's the 'system' per se. I think it could be described better as a rigid self enforcement of arbitrary social behavior. That's why somewhat odd but otherwise benign behaviors are the ones being targeted as the result of mental disorders, while at the same time other odd, borderline nonsensical behaviors are encouraged en masse.
