Lincoln was a tyrant, their secession from the Union was entirely just, General Sherman was a war criminal, and Reconstruction was but another slap in the face to the southern people. Their infrastructure destroyed from war, the foundation of their paternalist agrarian economy; as unethical of an institution it may have been; taken from in a moments notice left them staggering behind the north never to fully recover. The story of white southerners is tragic, but the fight for their culture has already proven long lost.
