Because even if you have a comfortable position right now it would still benefit you more if wealth were to be distrubuted as the inequality between a western worker and a third worlder is smaller than the inequality between said western worker and a capitalist.
At least, that's how they justify it, but I do not believe total global equality would be better economically for me even assuming there is no wealth inequality
