Nobody spoke out for the blue collar workers being replaced by illegal immigrants. Now that the children of illegals have grown up with citizenship, they've received American educations and are displacing low level white collar workers as well. While this itself is significant, it's really the tip of the iceberg. The simultaneous loss of jobs to offshoring, the lack of investment in industry due to potentially fatal regulation just around the corner, the failure to build new homes, the failure to adjust living standards, the fact that your income pays into a pension system you'll never benefit from, H1b and similar job stealing programs, the ability for third worlders to send money back to their families overseas and take advantage of lower living costs - crushing the viability of American families, a crippling national debt spent on benefits and a military which cannot spur the necessary economic growth to escape it, the seeming deference of all politicians to Israel, the complete failure of mass deportations, and now the rise of AI threatening to replace what little decent paying jobs are left. We're all frogs boiling in the proverbial pot. The heat has been rising since before I was ever born and now none can deny it. When they have automated near every managerial function there will remain only three classes. Owners, a dispossessed lower class, and a police/military to keep them in check. They are already trying to engineer a way to replace these lower classes. It'll make things much cheaper - after all of there aren't any workers to police, you don't need an expensive military/nobility class either. Once either the workers or the police themselves become automated, complete control will have been achieved. In truth, the progression of technology will likely always result in such an arrangement. Do those at the top of society have any responsibility to look after an underclass that can provide them nothing in return? In this sense it will be the poor who break their social contract first. When their work becomes useless and inefficient, the effect is no different than if they stay home and consume.
If this scenario were to be averted, it would likely require physical destruction of the data centers. It's an interesting coincidence that one of the most crucial links in the rapidly developing AI system is situated mostly within the United States - the most armed population on earth. Even still, I'm not entirely convinced that I couldn't find some way in these last few years of sovereignty to claw my way into the ownership class. That would be the noble plan of action. Realistically though, it's probably best for us to start hedging our bets.

>>2937040If you haven't yet noticed, national distinctions are becoming increasingly meaningless. You ask essentially whether it is better to serve a rich or poor master. Either way, you remain a slave.
