I don't think a solar impulse would do that much. It would definitly cuase something, thats for sure, but it will not have a direct effect on the situtation. What I can see happenening, however, is that the solar flare shuts down social media, the news, and other brainwashing mediums and therefore people are able to recover somewhat. The distress and whatnot might also cause people to snap out of whatever false beleif they are stuck in.
