I was recently informed that I will have to cover some kitchen shifts at work because all of the Mexicans will be doing a walk out in protest of I.C.E.

It begs the question: if they dislike the way we do things here so much, why don't they "walk out" of the country back to Mexico? I know the whole "If you don't like this country, then leave" thing is a bit trite at this point, but its a genuine question because at this point they are risking their safety just to remain here. It boggles the mind.

Is Mexico really such a shithole that making someone go back is tantamount to a cruel violation of their human rights?

Most immigrants from the third world only come here for the welfare/prosperity, they're recipients of pity who are under the delusion that they've actually achieved anything of benefit to the nation. That's a common trait among mestizo immigrants (particularly those from central ameirca). They love/take pride in the nation they resonate with the most (some nophono state in central america), but by no means want to endure the struggles that come with said nation

The thought has crossed my mind to ask some of the kitchen staff what they think of Mexico. I've never perceived a particularly nationalistic attitude from them (beyond their music and their refusal to learn English very well), so I'm curious what they think of their homeland.
