Jesus never referred to himself as "God". The only time is somewhat hinted that he thinks is God is in the of John which was written way after Matthew and Mark (which neither makes a mention) and based on a contemporary late 1st Century-Early 2nd Century interpretation. He was referred to as the "King of the Jews" which was referring to his claim to royalty through the linage traced back to the House of David. There were quite a number of so called "messiahs" at the supposed time of Jesus and before. Simon of Peraea being one of them. Don't even try to argue with me on this because you'd be dead wrong. Any experienced scholar would say that this is all accurate.
