But basically, they are followers of an eclectic sect of Shia Islam that posits that any direct descendant of Muhamed on the line of Hussein can be a legitimate imam. An Imam maintains legitimacy through fighting injustice and defending the faith.
Anyway, their whole identity is basically about fighting 'injustice' as they perceive it and they are leading a revivalist movement for their branch of Shia islam. So their ideology is essentially political islam with a few quirks.
It should also be mentioned that Yemenis have a long history of fighting invaders, which would suggest that their fight against the Saudis and the UAE is much less ideological as it is political.
