I would guess your problem with contemporary mass media is the morality of the messaging rather than the ease of understanding. After all, most invocation of "media literacy" is an attempt to convince a bigoted chud that his favorite art is actually about trans rights or capitalism being racist or some such drivel. I would see the ideal price of art as something that is compelling and with a moral or message that is both easily taken and morally upright.
