Frankly I don't understand the concept of hunger strikes. Like, they're not tortuting you or denying you your humand rights, you just willingly stopped eating food because… you want them to cave in to your insane demands? Taking yourself hostage is not a good idea lmao, nobody cares if you fucking kill yourself.
I don't think there has been a single recorded case of a hunger strike actually amounting to something. The most successful (or, rather, the least unsuccessful) hunger strike ever happened in Ireland in the 1970s (I think) when a bunch of IRA guys starved themselves to death in prison, which did not lead to any concession by the Brits, but it did radicalize a lot of the Irish youth. So, it took the deaths of a group of paramilitaries who particiapted in a centuries-long conflict that saw tens of thousands of people killed just to slightly tip the scales of the public opinion on their side. Never has it ever worked in the entire human history.
