I don't think it's declining necessarily. I just think it's just changing form and people are realizing that you don't have to go to church or sit in a room with a bunch of judgmental fuckwits for an hour to believe in a higher power. With all the new age Spirituality that's based on the foundation of Western Christianity that commonly gets promoted on social media tells me that some form of "Christianity" or belief in a higher power is gonna continue to exist for a long time even after we're long gone. Organized religion is what's really declining.

It's a continuous cycle. Some of those Atheists will probably turn back and go back to their religion of choice when they get bored and realize that there is no fulfillment in it or they have their own personal spiritual awakening, or just become Agnostic. I was an Atheist for years until I had a dream or vision last year involving an angelic figure of some type that felt as real as me sitting here typing this comment, and more real than anything I've seen. Usually with a dream you forget them and move on, but this was different. It had nothing to do with any religion or popular spiritual system at all that we know, and it was an obvious spiritual experience. So that there gave me the impression that there might actually be something that happens after we die, but I don't know 100% for sure what it is. So I just consider myself agnostic because I don't have all the answers. How could anyone?
