I just got finished watching The Birth of a Nation by D.W. Griffith and i gotta say its one of the greatest movies i've watch, ill start with the main part the cinematography and whatnot and then later ill get into its message and whatnot.

The writing of the movie was done quite well, i enjoy that it follows two families from just before the civil war to the reconstruction era so you get to see a sort of larger scale, speaking of larger scale the action/battle scenes were amazing , the grandious and bloody clashes of the civil war scenes were amazing helping put the war into perspective, then towards the end the battle scenes between the negros and the klan were absolutley spectacular inspiring a sense of awe and truimph, then the sound track i also found quite good and helped build the emotion in a way not seen in many movies even today, i especially enjoyed the usage of Ride of the Valkyries paried with that final battle scene. The romantic plot elements i also found to be quite nice though the medium of silent film does limit it quite a bit, the plot about how the situation came to be i found quite good aswell. the only gripes i had were with the acting in some parts where as like most silent films but that's just the medium.

now for the meat of this and my reason to post it on the /pol/ board instead of /mtv/, its deeper meaning and political inspirations. I really enjoyed how it depicted the civil war not as a truimphant war for either side but as what it really was, a bloody and useless brother war. then eventaully when lincoln gets assasinated the corrupt radicals seize the opportunity to gain power to themselves and begin "reconstruction" which can be best described as the movie puts it "an attempt to crush the white south under the heel of the black south". This part of the movie really resonated with me, the corrupt power hungry leaders sell out the nation to the mullattos and negros and the mullattos (irl its moreso da joos) then use this power they are granted as a member of the new ruling class to overthrow the old ones establishing a new order with their negros there to replace the old and just order, we can see this very well as ever since the governments of not just America but the west as a whole have been bought out by israel and now are replacing all of us with masses of the third world (in the movie its the niggers instead of pajeets but you get the point) to create a new loyal class for their so called empire and that if we dont do anything about it it is inevitable we will be crushed under this heel.

all and all i found the movie to be very good, quite entertaining (i sat through the entire 3 hour movie in one setting without even thinking about getting up) and to still hold a powerful message that resonates to this day, an amazing movie and a must watch for all you chuddies out there, 10/10.
