I live in the SE mountains of MT. I am from Wyoming though. My parents settled in Wyoming in the 1970s from Detroit but my wife's family were manifest destiny settlers from North Dakota and their family name goes way back to some old timey doctors who pulled peoples' teeth out and then prescribed them heroin.

Also in the town I live I don't even own a house key because I never lock my door. We leave our bicycles in a pile out in front of the movie theater without worrying about whether they'll be stolen. My children are free to bike and walk around by themselves and I don't worry about their safety. The reason our town is like this is because it's 97% white and the majority of the people I know are Christian. I think most of America used to be like this and it could be again - if we deport or imprison anybody who doesn't conform to our society.

Fascism as a permanent solution is bound to eat itself at some point. It's not that all leaders are bound to break bad one day, it's that they end up in a dick measuring contest with any runner ups and develop a huge anti authority and distrust complex that prevents anything but one very narrow scope of problem solving. In an ideal government, you need evolving approaches that you can't get any other way than trial and error from multiple leaders. Fascism is exceedingly successful when it's entire goal is to tear jewery out and when the previous government uses it's principles of fairness, democracy, and conservatism against good. But after that, it's not great at being constructive outside of what its people do and mending what is blatantly obviously wrong. Also the obvious issue of an otherwise well intentioned leader getting too big for his britches and having no checks and balances to prevent him from stretching his military way too thin for snca reasons. America got it right with a constitutional democratic republic, so long as we can actually get back to a federal square one, which I am thoroughly enjoying watching drumpf's progress on. Ev&doe nothing he has done is heckin facist yet.
