Here's my suggestion:
If you want to defend youself in any situation: boxing, kickboxing, muay Thai
If you want to build strength or stamina: wrestling or boxing
If you want something fun to do: taekwondo, karate, judo
It really depends on you. Personality I started with kickboxing then transitioned into MMA a year later. Another word of advice: don't start with MMA. Try doing something else (no matter what) to build a base then you can add other techniques
