It's actually true that Israel aided Iran during their war with Iraq. Israel actually used to have a doctrine called doctrine of periphery where they'd try to be allies with the non Arab countries in the middle east like Iran and turdgay. This backfired on them because their support for Iran turned around
The only reason they supported Iran is because they saw Iraq as a greater threat at the time and wanted to crush Iraq
