A politician in New York could hardly legislate for a city in New Jersey, how could one Government govern 50 United States? Each state really could become its own semi-autonomous government. Not to mention the loss of individual cultures that comes from calling this entire land mass one nation.

>>2393445 "Cure" is the wrong word, actually. We all have iniquities that we will struggle with for our whole lives. For Homosexuality, a person afflicted will never just "stop" experiencing temptation, it will require constant vigilance. Likewise for Transgenders. but the solution is just to live a normal life while enduring the temptation. A homosexual should still get married to a woman, a transgender should still live his life as a man, etc. I hope this makes more sense.

>>2393457 Fair enough. I was raised Greek Orthodox but became disillusioned with the Church as a whole as I got older, so I don't really lean all that hard into the spiritual stuff.
Closest description I have for my beliefs right now is probably somewhere between agnostic and Deism; I think that it's possible there was some kind of creator deity, and I find it hard to imagine a complete lack of some kind of afterlife, but I honestly don't believe that a potential god of any sort is actively involved in our lives; basically they set the universe up to run and now they're watching how it plays out.
