Two niche examples of a gemmy subgenre i can recall for this, is the "disturbing/cursed but pasive entity in a lonely house" kind of narrative.
In Caveat(2021) and Possum(2018) that don´t inmediatly just jumpscare but ratter drive into further desperate conclusion the protagonist by its mere disgusting existense.
