When people try to argue that My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate are, I can't help not to cringe because any artist other than Taylor Swift is fake emo. Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. The only example of REAL EMO is Taylor Swift. Some examples of FAKE EMO are My Chemical Romance, Sunny Day Real Estate, Rites of Spring, Cap'n Jazz, and Pg 99. EMO BELONGS TO TAYLOR SWIFT, NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE.
