Why do you think so much of the derangement, sexual degeneracy and desperate defenses of human evil we see every day on the internet come about from something as simple as arrested development? Why are the most spiteful men the men who are still boys? Have you ever actually stopped to think about it, or are you just doing what everyone else does by subdividing it through memes and convenient tropes into being about this media or that genre or this subsect of that fandom? Here's the clearpill on this (because blackpills are for faggot niggers)
>you don't deserve to be happy
All of this, all this nightmarish impjak screeching over fandom, gatekeeping, tourists, normies, 'taste', 'criticism' being conducted by people who lack even the most basic grasp on how to critique anything, 'independent artists' whose work is a protest against merit itself and all the other smelly, ugly, obnoxious nonsense that modern art has become all cycles back to this one idea. You're doing it because you "need" a hobby, you're doing it in search for the right kind of hobby to have against this tide of bad ones. There isn't one. You want a hobby because the world we're living in has domesticated us and is now trying to sterilise us. There isn't an acceptable, healthy or mature way to do it, it's all cope. You do not deserve to be happy. You were put on this Earth for more than this but accepting what that entails hurts and pissing money and time up the wall to see what sticks doesn't, until it does and now you're stuck here. Arguing on here, or on twitter, or on instagram, youtube or 4chan or some other shit about why your taste sucks and you've wasted your time and you're a fake fan and all this other babble. It's like arguing with dementia. You did what you did, if you enjoyed it then you did, if you didn't then it was a waste of time and you do not need to justify it to anyone. You just need to do more now. If I was an attention-seeking samefagger/namefag I'd post this on /a/ and /v/ as well but you get the point, it applies to everything. After all the Grummz and Rev Says Desu shit, after all the pedophiles that create and promote this media, after all the pseudointellectual rambling and misanthropy there has to be something else we are. Something else we do with our time. More than this.

Honestly, it feels like most people (especially in these 4chan adjacent spaces) only have hobbies to act pretentious. A lot of people on this site in particular are copy and pastes of one another.. probably something to do with trying to cope with not fitting in irl.

Trve. I may sound like the biggest boomer ever, but it's honestly insane how mass media-reliant shit like "Voice actor" and "Community manager" are actual jobs people even consider taking on. And let's not even mention jannies and all the other sorts of minuscule snca software gigs (although, I'm pretty sure nobody has ever seriously wanted to be a janny tho)

the fuck are you on about, voice actors were around since radios and voice talent was needed since theatre

I think it's mostly bad parenting. A very large percentage of people don't care all that much about their hobbies. The hobbies are really just distractions from themselves, and they will abuse the hobby and the people who do deeply care about them to get a more effective distraction out of it. And this breakdown is inevitable because they eventually grow temporarily or permanently bored of it and don't have the self-control to not make a mess of things. It's normal for a fan to get a little burned out on something after a while and they will want to take breaks, but the ones that actually care have enough respect for themselves and the hobby won't make a mess. That would be self-betrayal and they know it. But fake fans? There is no betrayal of the self when they ruin something, because using it as a simple distraction was the true motive all along.

Then you get something like 4chan, where those poorly raised children that never grow up find themselves in moderation positions they did not earn and are now bored of the distractions they falsely call hobbies. They lack any respect for the hobbies and this means they will not moderate them properly, because that would be "boring".
