I'm totally not Nico Sperg btw haha. Wider discussion of all bands is allowed though. Negative or Positive. Let's just have this be like the general for it or whatever.

Line you can post Monkees or whatever the fuck too I just feel like we should have a general discussion thread for at least one topic that's cool instead of reddit cringe ig.

niche 60s proto-metal teen save me

This album is definetely psych rock tbh. Lots of "boybands" from this time also did psych rock on and off again and sometimes mostly psych rock bands did too just yk. These retards are more into that than anything remotely interesting though. Garunteed response lol.

I don't give a shit about The Monkees but nobody was gonna post shit otherwise. I listen to a lot of 60s/70s Jam Bands and some Krautrock and stuff. I'm not really super into the boybandslop lol. I like some stuff by The Hollies though and Kinks and The Who tbh.

Ciuple songs by The Association i like aswell. But yk not super supe into those types of bands. Just a couple songs here and there. How someone van genuinely be a Beatles or Beach Boys or Monkees superman looses me.

I listened to this one a lot in high-school.

There were a lot of black dudes doing psych rock too tbh. Funkadelic,Undisputed Truth,Jimi Hendrix,Love,Chamber Brothers, and the mid 60s to mid 70s era Temptations stuff prettymuch.

Lot of the most influential psychedelic rockers were black and then a lot of soul musicians dabbled in both San fran/acid sound and some shit from krautrock.

All the power to you but i cant say im a fan of Hendrix, or anyone playing blues chords for that matter- to that point i would much rather listen to old rock bands from Russia, it seems like they have psychedelia in their souls

>>118682
i posted the monkees cause he said post the monkees
really i like this, it sounds almost prototypical to a modern indie psych pop song like an ariel pink or MGMT
and then eventually these guys would be Clear Light and make that doom metal song

 118742[Quote]

>>118741
really is a time oddity. making this in 67 is crazy

Clear Light is definitely a classic.
>>118713
Lol ok. Sounds contrarian for the sake of it but sure.

Lot of not very bluesey basically completely acid rock Hendrix tracks. He was black from the USA in the UK so it looked good for him to be a folksy yk. But the vast majority of the shit I at least like by him is prettymuch just acid rock.

We have completely different backrounds and interests yet you seem to assume that we would be listening to psych rock for the exact same reasons
neutralplier
>>118864
Never said Hendrix was Bluesy, only mentioned that because we were on the subject of 70s black rock artists. I dont deny he was a talented artist, nothing wrong with being a musicians musician. I just prefer emotion over technicality.

Classic that kind of transcends psych rock but its still pretty heavily rooted in it

These guys kinda just copied the vu tbh

 123505[Quote]

>>123495
Disagree, there was a decent amount of inspiration i imagine but their brand of noise rock is much more akin to like i mentioned psych than punk or protopunk. Besides these guys have recordings from around 67-68 which already started establishing their style.
