geg I posted the opening to the film a few months ago, did you see that?
If youve finished the film you should know its neither of those.. The film is an allegory for the Director being raped at a young age by a family member. Very interesting film to look into, it was a passion project that took 15 years to be made, and only released after the Director(the heir to an oil baron) had died.

Surprised to see this film get talked about here, yeah it’s really good

I liked the style of it myself. the filming type. low tech using capture frame to give a creepy stop-motion (like claymation) effect.
its amazing what you can accomplish without a bunch of shitty computer CGI to depend on the frills.

what did you like most about this movie? I wont spoiler but how the girlfriend ended up was hilarious as fuck and I didn't see it coming.

Did you watch it based on this thread? I think a sharty film discussion thread/viewing party could be fun. I do agree with you, it has a very unique style to it. Theres no book adaption and it has nothing to do with the game, it was the complete vision of its director, as well his first and final work.

Opening is really cool, havent seen anything else like that in a movie- also found the more fantastical bits towards the end to be interesting.
