Neofolk is good but because the scene was a very small group of hyper-disagreeable uncs they eventually fractured and the genre kind of died. This isn’t to say that more recent neofolk such as R.O.M.E. and Death in Rome aren’t good, (though the former lacks the iconoclastic ethos of the old scene and the latter is blatantly unserious.) IMO the best stuff was made when Douglas, David, and Boyd didn’t all hate each other. (Nature and Organization)
