I've been a fat motherfucker for 10 years. I switched to diet soda and that helped a little. what finally worked is i fasted.

for an 8 hour period I wont eat. and if my hunger pangs get too bad I eat two small cookies and drink a cup of water or a cup of diet soda.

doing this alone has brought my weight down. I don't have before pictures on this computer but I was very fat.

I am still not at the end of my fasting arc so even more weight is going to shed off in the coming months as I use the 2 cookie technique to skip 8 hour meal periods.

the other trick I learned is when you break your fast you have a bigger meal. so if I fast 16 hours I have a huge meal. I've heard that's not true though if you fast for multiple days.

so yeah fatbros it is possible to lose some weight through fasting. pick an 8 hour period and don't eat anything but stay hydrated. if you get too hungry pop 2 small cookies in your mouth or eat a few berries or something. best to distract yourself with something engaging for these 8 hours so you don't think about food. I like doom scrolling on TikTok cause it is a perfect distraction from eating.

this is the way. if you are a fat lazy bro like me there is no other way. I would have to do insane pushups to get similar results.

fasting is OK. intermediate Fasting where you don't eat for 18 hours straight and then eat for like 6 hours by snacking small meals but every hour for like 5-10 minutes will work

also Cardio. Nothing big impact. no running. Bike or take walks up hills or stairs.

you can lose 30 pounds in like 6 weeks. also do Chair Yoga. they have free Android Aps on playstore.

I have to disagree with this, but i do things differently. While i do daily calculations, my goal is WEEKLY caloric intake, with the goal of 12k a WEEK. IF i have a deviation, like pizza Tuesday, memorial day weekend, or if my wife wants to eat out at a new restaurant then i work those into the weekly calculations. I adjust the next few days accordingly. IF i have too many dinner plates one week, well that just means next week i add an extra plate to the weight machine. So far this has worked out.

For me, this helps a lot. Mostly with nutrition. Yes i count calories but my end goal is fiber and protein. So there are other benefits outside of weight loss and nutrition.

Now for the non-fit benefits: Budgeting and prepping. with budgeting i determine what i want to eat the next week, buy accordingly, and save money. This cuts down on food waste, this cuts down on meal prep time, and this cuts down on stress.

For prepping i can determine what to stock pile, what to forage for, and how often i may need to hunt. I don't think any of that will be necessary. However i AM a schizo nerd and planning stuff like that is fun.

Truthfully these arguments would be like plumbers and carpenters arguing over which tool is better. You do what works for you in your situation. Not everyone has access to a gym, some people are poor or they are teens who have neglectful unsupportive parents. Those guys need the unorthodox help like calisthenics.

There's this youtuber called "Pottenger's Human" and he is a fasting autist and has lots of videos about fasting.

He says he does a 36 hour fast once a week and has many videos detailing how people, including beginners, should fast for maximum health benefits.

In one video, he looked at a study where participants were doing back-to-back 36 hour fasts (fast for 36 hours, then eat for 12, then back to fasting) for over 6 months, and reported 0 lost lean muscle mass with tens of pounds of fat loss.

I use that to determine what i should eat, and i go off of serving size on the packages of goyfeed. For fruits and meat i go off of other nutrition sites. Once you become aware of how many calories food has it becomes far easier to watch what you eat. ALWAYS round up when cutting! if you are unsure add 100 calories.

I would love to live off of cookies too, but unfortunately i am an old man who has outlived all my enemies, which were few, and sadly a lot of friends, who were many and stand up guys. Not sure if it was heart attacks from too much bacon, or if they were juicing.

Cookies while tasty, don't keep away the scurvy. The cool part about counting, isn't that i can't have cookies, it's that i actually CAN fit them in, easily! Plus when you count weekly goals, you don't panic when your diet gets ambushed by old ladies at the potluck. They WILL ambush you. They will make sure you get the good stuff first while shaming the fat people.

I am old and i work. I want my nutrition from food. Also looking at the nutrition labels made me hate the slop. there was nothing in it.

If fasting is working for you guys then i am NOT going to tell you to stop. We build boxes to hold our tools, and it sounds like fasting is a pretty useful tool. I want to keep my nutrition up so that i can continue living and making that a problem for the guberment.

Good work OP, keep going and don't let bad things drag you down, you should also try consuming things like good meats (fish, lamb, beef, ECT…), eggs, sandwiches with whole wheat bread, milk, juices with NO sugar (unless it's sugar cane juice), yogurt, honey, and other healthy foods when you break your fast instead of soda and cookies (you don't have to quit soda and cookies, just eat them less)
