I largely don’t like watching an anime because it personally feels very long and thedious (idk how to write the word). When I read manga, its as if you could speed through entire episodes of content in one sitting

yeah that's because they make new anime episode while the manga is still coming out and unless they got filler planned they can't make episodes without manga to adapt, and famous mangakas often go on long breaks so they stretch out the animation for as long as possible. This was going on all the way back in the 70s and is especially jarrying in dragonball where famously one battle can last multiple episodes and goku will scream kamehameha for 30 seconds every single time.
nowdays often they do what netflix does and release one season every 4 years instead.
