I personally lean towards the latter option–as modern-day reboots/iterations of classic manga and anime have been pure nigslop, and honestly; I'd be much more excited for a brand new English reprint of the original GE999 manga, rather than this

worst-case scenario: it will suck–normniggers somehow latch onto GE999 and start gaslighting actual fans about the quality of this new movie
