higurashi is a gem, it's very long doe so prepare to bunker down for a long campaign if you get hooked but its very worth it in my opinion, i also recommend playing it with the 07th patch that adds voice acting https://nyaa.si/view/1315370

chapter 1 is the worst one imo
chapter 2's first half is also boring and repetitive because of how similar to chapter 1 it is but the second half is my favourite part of the series and every chapter after it is kino too

Chapter 4 was a "Bonus Disc" distributed at a convention for free (or for dirt cheap, I can't remember which), this is why it's short and relevance to the overall mystery is low. But it still does have one really important clue which is showing that Rika is aware of everything that's going on and she controls her own "persona". Prior to this it seems like she is possessed and she can't control it, in reality she's just frustrated from not being taken seriously in the hundreds of prior fragments.
