I've never seen the anime but I read the Web novel and light novel.
It has probably the best worldbuilding of any isekai, and I think it generally starts off strong. Around volume 10 (out of 26) is where it loses a lot of it's charm, though. The later volumes are especially apparent with a lot of the flaws, and a fair bit of retconning too. The biggest example I can think of is when teleporting is first introduced, the mere concept of a teleportation device still existing is unthinkable to the characters. Teleportation has been a cultural taboo and a forbidden art for thousands of years and the ruins of one still in working condition is a crazy concept. However, as the story goes on it's revealed that there are actually hundreds, if not thousands of teleporters left, and they are completely 100% safe to use and there was no reason whatsoever that they became a forbidden art. They are SO common in fact, that Rudeus regularly uses multiple within a day to do menial work akin to fetch quests from a video game. This isn't the only example of this sort of thing, and by far not the most egregious, but one I thought was worth mentioning nonetheless

for me the biggest dissapointment was the time travel plot twist. even if its kind of stupid back then it got me a little hyped for a potential high iq battle between rudeus and being x, but in the end it was just cringy shit like rudeus making a fucking organization/company and it was just so fucking bad.

It started off really good but I lost interest in the later seasons
