And it atagonises the catholic church, somehow helping litterally helping demons (the nazi vampire empire). I aint even a christian or one of those neo nazi amerimutts, nor even communist, but it reeks of capitalsim & the post ww2 hegenomy propaganda. (i am a syndikalist/fascist if u wonder).

It's a retelling of SOTN in many ways but with romance and it also has some surface level KnK overlap, Remake takes it further by mixing in a lot of stuff from Mahoyo, KnK, Fate and even Notes, while adding new characters and heavily expanding already existing ones. It's mostly about local and foreign vampires that tend to be very eccentric. If by some miracle the Remake is available in full (Red Garden) by the time you get to it/want to read it, just read that.

The manga is really good, though ideally you'd probably read the VN first or something. Though it depends on what you want from the story.
No idea where you'd get the manga physically though, and afaik the last few chapters are untranslated offline. Ofc you can easily just read it online but yeah.

i don't think you should look to deep into it. vampires were super popular when hellsing started and the goal was just to have "badass vampires fighting in secret societies in europe" because that's what stands out to the japanese readers. they view europe as this alternative society where you put priority on having a strict spiritual/philosophical dogma over strict secular/physical societal rules (japan is the other way around)
