Mine, it seems, is Yomi too. She's the most normal, adequate, also very talented and smart. Although she's a bad singer in addition. I bet if there was a real life version of her, it would be a fine gf material. However it's the last we should think of. I'm just not really certain if it makes her objectively the best. Let's then review all the cast.
Sakaki. Not very relatable for the most, usually is favorited by gooners. Has a shy, quiet nice character. This is what she has in common with Chiyo.
Chiyo. Chiyo is also not very relatable for the most of the fans but she is favorited by some for her cuteness and harmlessness. Sometimes it feels like those who like her do it ironically because they are into punching toddlers on the street idk lol.
Tomo. No idea who favorites her. Maybe very obnoxious people who suffer from multiple cognitive disorders. Like ADHD I would say.
Kagura. She's into sports which might make her likeable and relatable by those who also exercise in their lives. But I hardly ever met these people. From experience, most of her fanbase is a bunch of eternal gooners. Pitiful, to be honest. Especially given her good moral side (at least compared to Tomo if you know what I'm talking about, this monster has never even cried in the whole series, is she even human wtf).
Osaka. Most comedy we find in the show revolves around her. She's highly relatable to the majority of web-dwellers because she's autistic and is always airheaded. What makes her less relatable to me personally is her low consciousness and awareness about how she looks (= perceived by others) from aside. Maybe that what makes these people a genuine joy to be around. They just don't care and are always happy about it.
Kaori. It will be too much complimentary of her, seemingly, because she's somehow the most relatable to me personally. Even if she wasn't it would be still true that she's very underestimated as a character. She's got a great potential despite her being a dyke. Sometimes it's hard to tell if her "fans" are just soulless fags who only care about her because she's technically a dyke or very sensitive young chuds who are as well obsessed with someone they can't reach irl. Ok forget it all SHE'S GAY LöÖöL LMAÖÖÖÖ.
What regards Nyamo and Yukari, I don't give a fuck about them. They are milleniack wageslaves and stuff, teens, who are the target audience of the show, can't really relate to them, which results in that their characters are often abused as goonmaterial for these normalfucks. Meh.

i agree with you on yomi. she is also my favourite due to her being the only fucking normal one of the group. when i first watched azu my favourite was tomo (that was until i got tired of her bullshit every episode). though my fav is yomi i also do like kagura, she is almost like tomo and sakaki in one character, its a shame she doesnt get as much attention in the show or the manga, and she isnt even considered to be apart of the main group. kaorin is cool too but i feel like fans only like her for her gay fag crush on sakaki (even&doe its probably the only thing to her character) sakaki is cool ig she looks better in the manga (SNCA). chiyo is great and i love her dynamic with sakaki (like the cat or something). osaka WABAG… enough said.

Regarding Kagura, she was initially in a different class but then Yukari stole her from Minamo, and that's actually quite stunning how fast she became such a close friend to the main group, albeit you deem her as not getting enough attention in the show, I don't really know what you mean by "not considered a part of the main group", are you referring to the state of things in the show itself or how Kagura was presented outside of the show (probably by the authors or their official representatives I assume?).
What about Yukari and Nyamo, I also rate their dynamics as very catchy and even important to the very storyline.
And Kaori, you know, it's true her entire personality is having a crush on Sakaki and everything that comes out of it, but the emphasis on that her crush is technically gay is such a cancer for her whole image, this is sadly seeming to be the only thing the fans pay attention to in her personnage (this is not what her fate should have been like, she doesn't deserve what the fans have attributd to her <- huge imho doebeit she's indeed a dyke how could anyone miss and/or ignore that if it's almost inseparable from her role).

Kimura is a trash character but he was required. He created some geg moments around him, that's why he got added afterall (I came to this conclusion myself without actually checking if there's any official statement to affirm this).
On Kaori's character, I found it pretty ironic that she was also forced to waste her time on the geography club and its activities instead of doing things for herself. I've had the same situation in school and yes it also was about geography. I wasted my entire autumn vacation because of that, whereas my classmates rested. I think it appears that Kaori's entire personality is the crush on Sakaki only for that reason it's, like, muh teen love (evendoe gay) and it surely overwhelms teens a lot. No doubt Kaori is obsessed and that is her prominent trait that makes her "stand out" from the rest of the main cast in some sense, but anyways. I guess it was for good for her character she only got about 50 minutes of screentime. It contributed to her being perceived as some kind of outsider for the said main group. That's actually cool since it fits both the personality and the role that Kaori was assigned to. I may look a little too focused on her, at the end of the day.
