Oh wow. I really did not expect any Hopechads to still exist. What do you think of the AOT: Splinters Youtube videos btw? I had an ex-Hopechad friend send me it a while ago. It seems kind of… not great, but it was pretty close to the AOE theories I remember, and there were some cool ideas in it.

I watched AoT like a year ago still my favorite anime but the ending has clear problems. What is AoE and ANR?

What I never got about the ANR stuff is how people think Eren would have started a family with Historia, I never once got the impression that Eren and Historia liked each other, Eren and Mikasa makes the most sense out of all relationships in my opinion, that means nothing because Isayama sucks at writing romance. All the other stuff perfectly makes sense though, if I was in Eren's shoes I would have done 100% rumbling and just got it over with.

It basically goes over everything, but TLDR: in the manga their relationship was a lot deeper, and even in the anime's canon, Eren was the person Historia was closest to post-timeskip as well as vice-versa. More crucially, there are some completely unexplainable plotpoints without Eren being the father. The fake due date thing, as well as the Ch. 130 love conversation is mind-blowing and so obviously intentional.

ANR stands for Akatsuki no Requiem. That comes from a 2017-2018 music video that was released with the S3P1 blu-ray disc, and was made by Linked Horizons. You can see it reuploaded here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrQ0zZArUV8. The guy who directed it apparently sat in with Isayama and his editors for a meeting about the ending. And again, this was made in like 2017-2018, aka Marley Arc, aka the content in S4P1. In the music video, it shows Eren (adult bird) go back to Paradis, with a ghostly (i.e. in paths or traversing his memories) baby bird, obviously child Eren who's seeing this stuff with the Attack Titan. In it, Eren is shown completing the Rumbling all alone, going back to Paradis where he has a wife and young daughter (Historia and the reincarnated Ymir, which is how Ymir is freed and it actually makes sense unlike the Mikasa bullshit), and Eren visits graves (his friends) daily until he dies of old age.

That's just what started ANR though. There is so, so, so much to it. For example, Isayama admitted to and was caught "borrowing" stuff from other franchises, most famously Muv-Luv and Berserk for the early manga. However, somephobo found a book called The Eternal Champion which has a completely identical plot to post-timeskip AOT. Like, completely identical. It has Paths, the Founder Ymir, Eren and Reiner smushed into one character named Erekose, the Attack Titan (in it called The Eternal Champion), and much more. Also it was written 60 years ago and was supposedly quite successful in Japan.

The other thing somephono mentioned is AOE, Anime Original Ending. Basically, when the manga ending came out, it was so unbelievably, mind-numbingly shit that tens of thousands, but maybe much more, AOT fans believed that it was 4D Chess by Isayama and that the manga ending was purposefully incoherent by showing a mix of random pieces of different timelines, and that the anime ending was going to be the true ending that has ANR and reveals the pieces that explain the "failed timeline" where Eren dies and the "successful timeline" where the Rumbling is completed and all the plotholes explained. It made a bit of sense, but it was mostly just schizo nonsense and a lot of cope.

Oh and the point I forgot to mention about The Eternal Champion is that it ends in ANR. I guess I can just write it out. In the last arc, all of humanity has combined forces and arrived on the shores of Ptokai (Paradis), determined to exterminate the Eldren (Eldian) race. The powers of the Eternal Champion aren't nearly enough to defeat this. Most notably, Erekose's earlier love interest, the extremely devoted but obsessive Iolinda (Mikasa) has sided with humanity against him, and earlier had been extremely suspicious and jealous when he had had a close conversation with Ermizhad (Historia), who has royal blood and is sister to the King of the Eldren. Later Erekose interrogates the King of the Eldren, where he reveals that memories have passed down and that hundreds of years ago, the Eldren nearly exterminated humanity in a massive war, but the king was ashamed at what the Eldren Empire did and made a vow to never use the earth-obliterating weapons of the Eldren again and locked them underground, only accessible by those with Royal Eldren blood. But uh, in this Erekose actually convinces him since Erekose would be wielding them instead, and he uses the ancient weapons to exterminate all of humanity, 100% Rumbling, including all of his old friends who he once fought alongside. In the end, he returns and marries Ermizhad.

One more thing to note is that it was only discovered right before the manga ending happened and fucking destroyed the entire fandom and nearly every old fan left. Because of that, it's mostly only AoE people that talked or knew about it, so if you look it up you see a lot of AOE theories attached. Ignore those. This is extremely niche and unknown shit nowadays from what I've heard.

One more thing: 8 years ago Isayama had an inteview where he revealed the "final panel" of the manga, a man holding a baby saying "you are free." Not only that, we were allowed to hear one sentence of Isayama describing the ending, where he said it was about "surpassing the father." None of that happened. Even earlier, he described what he called the "Original Ending" and the "Mist Ending", saying he couldn't decide which he was going to go with. Then, a couple years before the final chapter, he said he watched some shitty ass Marvel movie and it inspired him to make the ending like that. I'm fucking serious. This is why Attack on Titan's ending was screwed. Also Isayama got married and became a fakecel bitch.

I am not crazy! I know he baited us. I knew it was all intentional parallels. Reiner/Helos, Historia/Ymir, eternal champion/mist similarities. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. He covered his tracks, he was forced by that idiot editor and 104th cucks to change it. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This hackery? He's done worse. That chapter 130 talk! Are you telling me that it wasnt intentionally set up to spark EH/EM wars? No! He baited us! Isayama! He made a bunch parallels! And we praised it as kino! And we shouldn't have. We took it as our Bible! What were we thinking? Armin helos/Mikasa freeing ymir shouldn't be canon. It'll never make sense! Ever since timeskip they were in the background doing nothing! Couldn't understand or stop eren when they had the chance! But not our Mong/Mikasa! Couldn't be precious MA! Thanking the genocidal maniac! And IT gets to be canon? What a sick joke! I should've dropped this manga when I had the chance.
