It's hot garbage and you can tell it is by the fact that their fans are notoriously known for keeping this snoozefest boring ass tranime in high ratings with alt accs, ep 19 is the only good episode albeit mediocre at best, and have I mentioned that this pile of shit is written by a woman? "Edward is short" is the best foid comedy this bitch could write. My advice is to watch Monogatari since it's better in all anime genres.

Yes. Here is the correct take on FMA:
Brotherhood and the original anime are about equal in quality, despite what Brotherhood fanboys will tell you. Which you'd like more ultimately depends on what you like and what you hate in anime.

The original is more serious, stays more grounded, has better and more interesting character development, but has a bunch of shit plotholes, worse pacing, a couple more filler episodes, and a less fulfilling but (in a way) more climactic, despite being much lower stakes, ending.

Brotherhood is more consistent, has better animation, alchemy makes sense the whole time, is more hopeful/wholesome, but the last 1/3rd is borderline Marvel-tier plot armor, the stakes get a bit ridiculous, too many undeveloped characters, and it's not as interesting. The first episode is anime-only and is really weird now since it was made for people who watched the first anime to see it and think "wow it's following the manga now!".

I prefer the original anime. I don't mind looking past something's flaws if it has much more interesting and compelling ideas than something "better" that doesn't. It just depends what you like. I recommend watching both, though! They complement each other quite well. It's interesting how their flaws and strengths are an almost complete inverse of one another.

Oh yeah, one more thing: the pacing for the first chunk is better in the original anime. I was extremely disappointed when I watched Brotherhood for the first time and saw that multiple of the most emotional and genuinely great moments of the anime were significantly worse, even if that meant overall better pacing and less filler. TLDR: The original is just higher peaks and lower lows. It's ultimately a matter of opinion.

Only watch the original series from 2000s. Brotherhood is complete negroid pile of shit

trvke. I forgot to mention that earlier, the humor sucks. It's not a big deal imo since there really isn't that many bad jokes or whatever, but it's still a point in favor of the OG anime. Brotherhood has WAY more comedic relief.

The manga is identical to Brotherhood, with the exception of episode 1 being anime-only for the reason I mentioned above.
