None of the characters are very developed at all and exist for you to THINK that they are.

Thats why they aired it out of order, if you haven't watched it in broadcast order already I suggest you should as it really elevates pacing of the series

I will admit that the actual series is overrated but the movie is genuinely kino and is one of the best that anime has has to offer
