Just looking at this promo art, Togusa has some generic revolver instead of his iconic Mateba and Motoko doesn't have her Seburo. From the teasers it seems the story will probably be 1:1 to the manga, which is okay, but something original would've been better. SAC did it and very well.
I haven't cared about any new anime for the past 12 years and this is the only thing that peaked my interest since.

What do you mean? The original manga ended in the 90's. There have been many movies and series based on it but they only borrowed the characters and the setting. Definitely watch the 1995 movie and the Stand Alone Complex series and movie, the other adaptations are meh.
Apart from that, this franchise and especially the 1995 movie, might be one of the most influential works for the cyberpunk genre, I'd even place it next to Neuromancer.

yes it's awesome. also yeah in the first season the MC always has that jarring goonfuel outfit, but in the second season they finally gave her clothes
