yea me 2 but you gotta be honest they really shit the bed on some of the more "serious" scenes, one that comes to mind is the cliff scene when they are all about to commit suicide and sato just gets told that his life is the most worthless out of everyone he just saved when he wasn't even going to kill himself and it just turns into some wacky yelling to transition to the next scene.

in the manga misaki is fooled by famazaki to help with fuyucomi instead, and because the meetup tries to ack by carbonmonoxide poisoning they can just take satou out of the tent once he's passed out
the dramatic deflation is the entire point of welcome to the NHK, because satou and the misaki act dramatic cuz thats what tey've seen on tv
the "jumping off a cliff" and "emotionally warming scene of passionately shouting at a suicidal guy not to do it" are horribly cliche and cringe and thats the perspective satou and misaki have on their own lives
but misaki doesnt actually know how to convince satou not to kill himself, and satou doesn't really have the courage to jump immediately either

I guess that makes sense, I haven't read the manga at all but in the context of the show it doesn't seem like they are being dramatic it seems like that's the normal tone of the show. So when the normally dramatic tone of the show gets interrupted with a silly gag it feels weird. The more I find out about the manga the more I realize how much interesting stuff they cut out.

Its not adapted from a manga but a light novel and the changes between those two are drastic i think each of the 3 are unique and worth a read/watch to see nhk in a different way
